Why do seams open?
UV, heat and teak's natural movement crack, lift or drop the seam material below the teak level over time. Wrong cleaning (stiff brush, aggressive chemicals) also wears seams fast.
When to renew?
If seams are cracked, lifted or leaking, it's time to renew. Postponing small problems damages the wood or structure beneath.
The process
The old seam material is fully removed, the groove cleaned and remade with the right flexible sealant. If the teak is thick enough, seam renewal alone; if thinned, we recommend a full deck.
