Flooring affects a boat's look, comfort and safety. The right material lasts in a wet, salty environment.
Marine vinyl
Waterproof, easy to clean and durable; comes in wood/teak-look patterns too. Popular for cockpits and wet areas. Low maintenance.
Marine carpet
Gives a warm, comfortable feel; preferred for interiors/cabins. It must be marine-grade, quick-drying and mould-resistant — ordinary carpet grows mould aboard.
Non-slip coverings
Non-slip flooring matters for safety when wet in the cockpit and on deck. Non-slip coating or EVA panels can be used.
Which where?
Vinyl or EVA in wet/exterior areas; marine carpet in dry cabins. Mixed use is fine too. Choose by your use and aesthetics.
We plan flooring renewal under our interior refit service, alongside upholstery.
