Cockpit EVA Decking: Soft, Non-Slip and Maintenance-Free

EVA foam decking has grown popular for cockpits and decks in recent years; a soft, non-slip covering that needs no maintenance. A good option especially when comfort and safety are the priority.

Advantages

• Soft and comfortable: ideal for long standing or use with children.
• Non-slip: safe grip even when wet.
• Maintenance-free: unlike natural teak it needs no oil/varnish; cleans with water.
• Heat: doesn't get as hot as natural teak in the sun (colour-dependent).

Versus teak and vinyl

If you want the classic teak look and prestige, natural/synthetic teak; for waterproofing in wet areas, vinyl; if comfort + non-slip is your priority, EVA makes sense.

Application

EVA panels are cut to the boat's template and bonded. Correct surface prep, edge/corner cutting and bonding determine the look and life.
