Fibreglass boats are durable, but not "maintenance-free". Regular, simple care is the best defence against big, expensive repairs.
Protect the gelcoat
Sun and salt dull the gelcoat over time. Regular washing, occasional wax/protectant and a yearly polish keep the colour and gloss. Acting before fading advances postpones a full gelcoat renewal for years.
Hull and underwater
Check antifouling at season start, monitor growth through the season and scan for osmosis signs when ashore. Repair small scratches and cracks before they grow.
Routine checks
Regularly check stress cracks around deck hardware, bilge moisture and seals. A problem caught early is a cheap problem.
