Wooden hull and caulking
On wooden gulets, regular checks of caulking seams and varnish are essential; small openings must be solved before they take on water (see oakum/caulking techniques).
Teak and deck
The heavily-walked teak deck needs regular cleaning and seam care. Below the waterline, underbody and antifouling are annual items.
Pre-season programme
