Because a teak deck is a boat's most striking but most labour-intensive surface, its cost depends on many factors. Here are the main items that set the price.
Factors that set the cost
- Deck area: the job scales directly with square metres.
- Material: natural teak and synthetic teak are in different price ranges.
- Current condition: a new deck, or removing and renewing old teak? Removal means extra labour.
- Seams and details: corner transitions, curves and seam work affect the price.
Seams only, or full?
If the teak is still thick, seam renewal is far more economical. If thinned, a full deck is needed; we measure teak thickness at the survey and advise correctly.
