Autumn: A Guide to Preparing for Winterising

Autumn is the critical transition when a boat is prepared for winter. Good winterising prep is the key to getting through winter undamaged and starting the next season ready.

End-of-season check

Cleaning and moisture

The underbody is cleaned, the interior dried and ventilated; mould and damp are the biggest enemies in winter. A closed-up boat shouldn't sit alone with moisture for months.

Winter is the right time to repair
