Gulet Refit and Restoration: Renewing While Preserving Tradition

A gulet refit renews several items of the boat together while preserving its commercial value and original character. On wooden-hulled gulets this requires balancing modern materials with traditional craft.

Wooden restoration

Rotten and fatigued areas are repaired and, where needed, reinforced with epoxy. Caulking seams are renewed; the goal is to strengthen without spoiling the original character.

Teak, paint, interior

Common items: teak deck renewal, hull paint and varnish, cabin/saloon upholstery. Underbody and antifouling are included below the waterline.

Planning

In a refit, structural and paint work come before the interior. We plan item by item with project management, working around the season calendar. Engine/mechanics are outside our scope.
