Maintenance usually brings to mind season opening and winterising; yet a short mid-summer check saves the rest of the season. In peak use, small problems grow fast.
Underbody and performance
Mid-summer weed/shell build-up on the hull cuts speed and fuel efficiency. A short hull cleaning and a review of the antifouling condition is often enough. Anode status should be checked too.
Surface and teak
Salt and sun tire the hull and deck. An interim detailing, limescale cleaning and teak care protect both looks and material life.
Don't defer small repairs
A small crack or gelcoat scratch you notice in season grows if it waits until winter. Mid-summer is the right time to solve them fast. For the overall plan, see the annual maintenance calendar.
