Why is structural damage serious?
A crack or delamination in the underwater structure leads to water ingress and, over time, a weakened structure. A small visible mark can hide serious layer separation beneath.
The repair approach
The damage is read correctly first: superficial, or into the laminate? It's opened back to sound material and rebuilt with layer-by-layer lamination in the right resin and glass. In load-bearing areas, epoxy is preferred.
What comes next?
After structural repair the surface is completed with finishing and antifouling. Always have your boat checked after a grounding.
